My Top Six Favorite Water pokèmon

Like Normal, water is a big category in the game, and one of my favorite categories in the game, so picking just 6 out of it proved to be quite challenging. There are A LOT of good water pokèmon in the game, and everyone has a favorite they work with. just remember like always this is my personal opinion. Also remember as stated in the previous post, legendaries are not allowed in these blog posts, it is just not fair.

So Without further adieu, my top 6(Ish) favorite Water Pokèmon

6:https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/a/a4/195Quagsire.png/165px-195Quagsire.png Quaigsire: Its no secret in the game that water pokèmon really hate electric pokèmon. a good electric can rock the world of almost any water pokèmon. That was until Second gen introduced the concept of water/ground in the form of Quaigsire. I know following generations would also introduce their own versions of water ground, in starters or random tadpoles, But Quaigsire did it first. With that goofy expression on its face he had the ability to wreck carefully laid plans. I would bet that up until the invention of water/ground most players didn’t really think of having a good grass type, or even a pokèmon who knew ground on their team, Quaigsire changed how people developed their teams, at least how i developed my team. Its pretty impressive that any one Pokèmon can do that, so for that reason Quaigsire is on the list.

5:https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/f/fd/134Vaporeon.png/200px-134Vaporeon.png  Vaporeon: I have made it no secret i am an eevee fan. I love all its evolutions and Vaporeon is no exception. this one is one of the better ones, with water and bite at its side, and unlike glaceon the ability to also learn ice moves makes vaporeon a must in any team eevee. VAporeon can also take a hit as well not to mention its a nice design for the critter. The most important thing about vaporeon is that it is an eevelution that’s what lands it on this list.

4: https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/3/39/007Squirtle.png/165px-007Squirtle.png https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/0/0c/008Wartortle.png/170px-008Wartortle.png  https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/0/02/009Blastoise.png/213px-009Blastoise.png Squirtle family. : Like many Pokèmon fans, the early intro into the game came with a choice of three starters, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle. While I tend to be more of a Bulbasaur fan myself, i still carry a love for all of the original starters. This is probably the only generation i can say i played and loved all three. This is more then likely because my first Pokèmon game was Yellow. Yellow allowed the player to collect all three, so i got the chance to appreciate these individuals for their strength. While their fully evolve forms are obviously more powerful, its the first stage is often the stage i favor the most, still you cannot deny how impressive Squirtle becomes when he grows up.

3:  https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/a/a8/319Sharpedo.png/180px-319Sharpedo.png https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/b/b9/321Wailord.png   Sharpedo/ Wailord: Pokèmon added two great water types in Gen three, Wailord, a whale that has a massive amount hp and defense, and the speedy Sharpedo. Wailord has come in hand as a water HM user, i taught it surf, dive, waterfall and Wirlpool to get around, not only that the big guy also learns strength making him quite the useful one. But if i had to pick my favorite of the two its Sharpedo who really stole my heart, he is quick, can take a hit and has decent attack to him. I named my Jaws in the game and the two of us got along really well until i caught my Kyogre. sharpedo is just an awesome looking pokèmon, whose design makes him look really fierce. Wailord is just big, which is expected if your going to make a pokèmon that looks like a whale. my only complaint about Wailord is he looks more like a submarine or a torpedo then it probably should. I mean Sharpedo has torpedo in the name, and it looks less like a torpedo then Wailord does. Still these are both solid water Pokèmon and both should be acknowledged.

2 https://i0.wp.com/www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/tamanta3.png  https://i0.wp.com/pokemon.supercheats.com/artwork/226.png   Mantyke and Mantine: This is not Mantine’s first time on one of my lists, Its just so loviable, It is Mantykes first time though. I just love this family, I know this pokèmon is now weak for electric and rock and ice but just look how cute it is. Ahem ok, this family i also think needs just one more evolution to work out a few of the kinks, its just a solid pokèmon and a decent water. Yes i know i can’t mount up a mantine and fly in the air with it but it is just a fun one to have on a team. The design on this guy is also well thought out, i mean look and Mantine’s design, it has gills along the side and a little Remoraid hanging off its wing, this is just well thought out representation of a real life stingray.

1: https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/a/ab/131Lapras.png/260px-131Lapras.png Lapras: this one should not be a surprise to anyone, This Pokèmon has been a part of teams for the better part of 16 years now. She is just a solid fighter, great stats and a great move pool. I think its also one that has aged well, “what do You mean by that?” You might be asking yourself. Well, In every generation they is always new Pokèmon, some displace older pokèmon, some games ruin stats others increase the Pokèmon stats to the point it is too powerful. Lapras has been reliable from red blue and yellow up until the most recent game X-2. This is a good pokèmon well deserving of the number one water spot.

Top 6 Normal type pokèmon

the next few post baring something random i want to put up will have my six top favorite pokèmon of each type. You maybe asking yourself why 6. Well here are my reasoning. some Categories like normal and water have a ton of different pokèmon in it. while other categories like Fighting and ghost are relatively small categories. Six seemed like a nice even number that i could pick that allowed some of my favorites to get in, and highlight what i believe to also be exceptional members of the type.

Now some ground rules for this. Legendary pokèmon, ones that you only get one shot at, and cannot breed will not be considered. they just got their own post, also since most legendaries are the top of their class it is not fair to the other regular pokèmon to be compared to them.

do not be surprised to see repeats in some of the categories since a good chunk of pokèmon are duel type. The only category duel typing was not allowed was normal/ flying because almost half the bird pokèmon out there are that type.

Each Type will have its own post, because otherwise this blog post will be far to long.

Like always this is my personal opinion, but i welcome you to write your favorites down below.

Without Further adieu, my top 6 favorite normal.

6: https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/81/161.png   https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/4/43/Spr_5b_162.png  https://i0.wp.com/img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/zigzagoon.png https://i0.wp.com/img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/linoone.png  Furret and Linoone: the Game is notorious for giving players a decent starting normal with in the first couple of areas you venture out in. What makes these starting normals so great is often the fact they evolve rather quickly, They learn a good chunk of HM moves, and there stats are decent enough to help you out in the first couple of gyms. Sentret and Zigzagoon are the ideal starting normal pokèmon the wide variety of moves they learn make them awesome little Swiss army knives as i often called them. Lanoone will even pick up surf later on if you don’t have a water pokèmon handy. While as you progress you will find better pokèmon to battle with, for early game pokèmon these two and there early evolutions have to be acknowledged for helping you out in a tough scrap.

5: https://i0.wp.com/oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/pokemon-blue-version/d/dd/Ditto.gif  Ditto: Now i have mentioned this little guy before, in my top ten Pokèmon i would never use in battle. So I will keep this brief, What makes ditto special is its ability to breed with just about anything except legendaries. To have that ability opens up a lot of doors in game, you can breed fully evolved pokèmon to said over to a friend, or say you catch the fully evolved version of something late in the game and you need its starting form for a dex entry, well give it to Ditto. Ditto is very useful in the world of breeding and no other pokèmon can match what he or she does for the player. Ditto can be hard to find, but he is always worth the catch.

4: https://i0.wp.com/static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/506-507-508_4168.png Snoutland family: This is another early game normal pokèmon you can catch. Unlike Linoone and Furret as this one grows up he can become a powerful addition to your team. His stats are great and like most normal pokèmon he has a great pool of moves he can use. For me the ability to learn Crunch one of Dark’s most powerful moves sets him apart. This along with the different amount of moves he can learn coupled with a decent HP mark made him a great pokèmon to play though black with. He was one Early normal i can say did not go into the box, he was not really outclassed by many normal pokèmon found in that game and that is what lands him and his family in my top 6.

3: https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/e/e2/133Eevee.png/180px-133Eevee.png Eevee: Oh Eevee, honestly one of my favorite pokèmon in the game. This little ball of fluff just has so much potential to it, the ability to evolve into almost any different types with 8 solid evolutions and I am almost positive more to come; having an eevee in game is almost mandatory at this point. There is something just so likable about this pokèmon besides its ability to evolve it like most normals has a good chunk of moves it can learn on its own, or though TM. Probably its most valuable move is bite, that dark move, learning it as an eevee then transferring it to its evolutions makes eevee a threat to most psychic pokèmon out there, especially if it moves to Espeon.  their is no doubt in my mind Eevee is a special pokèmon that deserves its place here on this list.

2 https://i0.wp.com/i.imgur.com/JCAxYkb.png Blissey family: I actually not a big fan of pink pokèmon, jiggly is ok, and i hate cliffary, so why is Blissey spared, Because it is a good pokèmon. Besides being a pain in the ares to evolve (you try finding a shiny stone in black 2!)  This is a very good pokèmon. Like most normals it learns a wide verity of moves, which lets face it, makes most normal’s unpredictable in battle. it has solid HP numbers making this family a great tank. Sometimes, when you in the elite four you at that final pokèmon and your team is exhausted or dead, throwing a good tank out their to give you a chance to heal up the rest of your team can be invaluable. i am glad that over the years this family has grown a bit, because this is a good family to have on your side.

1: https://i0.wp.com/www.dltk-kids.com/pokemon/adoptions/143.gif  Snorlax: Having a tank in this game can be invaluable, having a tank in this game that can also inflict a world of hurt on to your opponent is just an added bonus. Snorlax is that triple combo of HP Defense and Attack that just makes him a great Normal pokèmon. With the wide verity of moves that is the vary nature of normal pokèmon and natural moves it can also learn it makes him crazy unpredictable as well. my favorite moment with this pokèmon is when he use metronome and flew into the air in stadium. he was up against a very tiny pikachu i can only imagine what would go though that Pokèmon’s mind seeing a giant snorlax flying into the air. I am also a big fan of his design, he just always looks so happy to be there. Snorlax is just a great Pokèmon and often and invaluable member of my team. I would love to see if he gets a Mega evolution in the upcoming games, but part of me is just happy to see him as is, because in my eyes he is just perfect the way he is.

So that concludes this list of my top 6 normal pokèmon, next up Water.

My Top Ten Favorite Legendary Pokèmon

OH MY GOD ITS ALMOST HERE!!! POKÈMON X & Y ARE COMING!!

Ok breathe…alright…i am calm(ish) now. To keep myself this way i am declaring the next few weeks Pokèmon Month. filled with various topics.  The ones i have planned so far…my top 5 faves of each type (There will be one Blog dedicated to each of the current 17 types. If i do Fairy it will be some time in November after i have a good chance to enjoy and figure out the new typing.)  Some time this week i will do a reaction/ thoughts post on the new game and what we have learned so far about it.

But for now i am starting with my top ten Favorite legendary Pokèmon. To me at least Legendary deserve there own typing because they are often in a league of there own. In a lot of these cases they tend to be the top of there class, the only one of there kind (Per game) and Unbreedable. Now Remember like always these Choices are my personal Opinions and can admittedly be swayed by the game version i picked up, you may also notice that a lot of late in game pick ups are not on this list because they often just that. they come in too late in the game for me, i have already established my go to pokèmon and unless i plan on spending a lot of extra time in the game. i Generally do not play with them. (So Don’t really expect to see any Black and White legendary’s here.) Also there is a big 2-3 year gap in game play i missed out in a good chunk of the mystery gift pokèmon, so without playing them myself i have no way of knowing they are any good, so they will also not be on the list.   Alright without Further delay my top ten Favorite legendary pokèmon.

10:     https://i0.wp.com/faqsmedia.ign.com/faqs/image/ani250.gif Ho-oh: For a lot of people who were exposed to the animè first this is the first legendary most of us see. Flying off into the distance and Ash’s pokèdex declaring it as and unknown and that there are still many thinks unknown to us. Its a definition of life really isn’t it, there are are a lot of mysteries out there that we just do not know about.  Ho-oh its self isn’t a terrible legendary, its just not one of my favorites, and i tend to not really go that much for fire anyways, but given what it helped create and it being part of admittedly my favorite generation. Ho-oh deserves a place here on my list.

9: https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/1/1b/146Moltres.png/300px-146Moltres.png  https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/4/4e/144Articuno.png/240px-144Articuno.png  Moltres and Articuo: Most of you who have been reading my blogs are probably not surprise zapados is not with these two (Spoiler alert: he is much higher on the list!) But since the first generation and new releases i have made an effort to get to know all three of the legendary birds who are still some of my favorite legendaries. While these two are no Zapados, both are good in there own right and the fact all three are elegable for competitive play makes them allstars in my book. Articuno is just beautifully designed, and Moltres isn’t that bad to look at either. both are fine birds and deserve a spot here on the list

https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/e/e4/384Rayquaza.png/247px-384Rayquaza.png Rayquaza: My first Dragon Pokèmon on the list. This is an amazing looking dragon pokèmon and honestly one of the few that look like a Dragon. It is a pain to fight and fun to train, and isn’t that in the end what you want with a legendary. While available in all three of the third Gen games, its the third one Emerald does Rayquaza really get to shine.

7:  https://i0.wp.com/www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/2024255/img/Anonymous/giratina.png  Giratina: Like Rayquaza before it, this one really didn’t get the love it deserved until the third instalment of the forth generation: Ghost/ Dragon seems to me like a weird mix, and by golly is Giratina a little weird looking, and almost in some ways a little terrifying. it of course is not easy to get but at least its not roaming, and i can honestly say i prefer the upgrade it got in platinum. I think it is a solid pokèmon and well worth a spot on my team, if only sadly he wasn’t uber then he would be there along with some of my others.

6:https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/6/66/484Palkia.png/280px-484Palkia.png   Palkia: This legendary you pick up fairly early in the game (probably about the mid point in your journey), given that this was my first ds Pokèmon game and i opted for Pearl, Palkia became part of my team. One of the few Dragon pokèmon out there that really doesn’t learn fly (It leans Surf instead) Palkia made life easy getting around without my little lapras. I named mine Voyager and together we wreaked havok, it was a solid entry to the legendaries.

5:https://i0.wp.com/images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110403105337/pokemon/images/2/24/380Latias.png  Latias: Boy was this little guy a pain in the Arse to catch, but well worth it once i had her in my team. Seeing how i played Sapphire and then Emerald i never really got my hands on latios until recently in Black 2 i was kinda of thrilled to run into it because i never has tios before. But sadly for Latios it was to late, Latias (named trouble after all the trouble it caused me trying to catch it,) had already been together for almost ten years. Plus i tend to admittedly favor having female Pokèmon on my team, So this troublesome to catch pokèmon has landed on my favorites list.

4 https://i0.wp.com/willytpokemon.webs.com/photos/My-Favorite-Pokemon-Pictures/legendarydogs.pngEntei, Raikou and Suicune: There is just something amazing about these three that is just aw inspiring to me. their story, three pokèmon killed when a tower burned down, brought back to life my Ho-oh only now to roam though johto. I have made it no secret i am not overly fond of chasing pokèmon around to catch them…but for these three and Latias i will give the time in for. the are in each right a Good pokèmon, Solid stats and in a good chunk of games. I really grew to appreciate them with Pokèmon XD when you got to “Steal” all three of them from bad trainers, It was then i really got too see them shine. if i where to really complain about them it would be for poor Raikou. Entei got a whole movie, Suicune got a crystal, and what did Raikou get bumpkins…poor little guy. Raikou was the first of the legendary beast i caught in silver and I guess has been a favorite of mine since then. Still its hard to to appreciate all of them.

3 https://i0.wp.com/images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110528211960/pokemon/images/4/41/382Kyogre.pngKyogre: This is the water pokèmon that for a time actually took Lapras place on my team. Oh my god Right? It learns everything Lapras does, but instead of loosing a spot in my move set for rain dance this one knew drizzle making thunder a 100% accurate. making this pokèmon mighty dangerous to a lot of other Mon’s out there. If you think about it really, Kyogre is the best on out of gen threes legendary pile anyways, taking out Groudon and Rayquaza, a good chunk of the regis and even latia, and latios making this one top dog in Gen 3. I love her design and i am not just saying it because sapphire is my birthstone. This is one bad big whale and it knows it.

2 https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/e/e3/145Zapdos.png/310px-145Zapdos.png Zapdos: Come on people are you really that surprised to see this guy on my list. He was on my list of top Ten Favorite pokèmon! Like I have said before Zapdos has been one of my go To legendaries for a very long time now, there have been other electric pokèmon, and there have been other birds but zappy has always been a loyal and true team mate to me over the years. It will always have a special place in both my heart and my team. The fact he is a legendary that is not considered and uber Pokèmon makes Zapdos still a viable option for my team, I love this bird and to me he stands out greatly from his siblings. Zap you will always be with me…ps i hope you get a mega form…that would be kick ass!

1    https://i0.wp.com/www.wikihow.com/images/2/2e/Untitled-34.png       Lugia: Go ahead click on its name and you will know in an instant why Lugia is my top Legendary Go ahead i will wait. That theme is pretty much the top reason i love this pokèmon so much. I know a peice of music…but it for me it just wasn’t the music…lugia in my opinion has the best music around it, and was the first legendary pokèmon I caught and used for a majority of the game. You do get Lugia midway though the game and he is amazing. i know a lot of people likes mewtwo but for me the second generation is pretty much my favorite gen. Silver especially is super spherical to me it marked a lot of firsts for me. The first time i had to choose my starter, The first time i experience pokèmon with friends. Lugia was also one of the first legendaries from older gens i was able to retain with Pokèmon XD making him rare amongst my friends. Lugia to me will always have a great story, great music, and a Amazing Pokèmon which makes Lugia always my number 1

So there you have it my top ten. what do you think? Were your favorites on the list? Was there a surprise?. Let me know in the comments down below.

If you have a suggestion please fill out the form.

my top 15 favorite non pokèmon games

I know i said in the previous post this would only be ten, but as i began to write out my favorite games the list grew quite long. filled with both nostalgic memories and fun days playing them.

So what makes the following games my favorites, several factors actually, nostalgia, repeatability (would i go back and play the game again.) Enjoyment and finally because i loved it damn it.

First a few honorable mentions: these our games i enjoyed but never completed on my own, because i didn’t have the skills or i can be a dumb ass some days when it comes to games.

Grand Theft Auto 4: Vice City. I loved the music in the game and watching my brother play it. i would do the taxi missions for him, steal a cab and run around the city listing to the emotion channel, i still have a lot of the music on my iPod. I however never played any of the real missions so i cannot count it.

Sonic (all) is another game i watched my brother play. however when it came to me actually playing sonic spent a lot of time dead. So while the game holds memories with my sibling not much else does it hold. And my last honorable mention

Ghostbusters (Sega gen) another game i enjoyed watching, but was never really sucessful playing myself. maybe today i would it has a lot of the elements i enjoy now but back then it was not a game I could complete, i did enjoy watching it though.

now for the top 15

15 https://i0.wp.com/images.wikia.com/fireemblem/images/9/9c/Party_Star.PNGMario party and https://i0.wp.com/boourns.dynu.net/pics/Smash_Bros__Logo_wallpaper_by_Kinan.jpg  Smash brothers: To me these games are all equal, i enjoy the community aspect of these games, gathering at my friends house and playing a couple of hours of these games with them. I have to admit right now, i am generally not a Mario (or peach) fan. So you will never see me pick him but that being said i do enjoy these games and the hours of entertainment they will give me.

14: https://i0.wp.com/pics.mobygames.com/images/covers/large/1022523327-00.jpg Torin’s Passage: This came to in my life as a free game with our new Aptevia years ago. i played all the free games that came with it, but i had a particular love for this one. i found the story engaging with a twist ending. Playing though it was challenging but rewarding. I did go back a couple of times to play this game and enjoyed it every time, making it honored part of my past.

13: https://i0.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2b/King%27s_Quest_IV_-_The_Perils_of_Rosella_Coverart.jpg Kings Quest IV: This would be the only title in the king’s quest series my family would play. I started off watching my dad play this and in later years i would give it a go myself. It would be the first game and possibly only game on my list that had a female as the main character. I loved the story, (and hated that stupid whale) this would be one of two original games. it would be this one and number 11 that would start my gaming Journey.

12: https://i0.wp.com/www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/7861-betrayal-in-antara-windows-screenshot-screen-titles.gif Betrayal in Antara: I Loved, loved, loved this game. This one i think would solidify my love or RPG’s. I must have played this game though 3 to four times, but sadly as with most computer games when you upgrade the computer, the older games just cannot run on newer windows. I remember sitting at my computers tower as the cd rom started to fail on it, opening and closing it begging it to run the game, i was that addicted to it. I can also admit here that to this day i still check the rumor mill for one of two things, one sierra is teaming out with one of the big three consoles so we can play there old games there, and two, to see is a continuation of this game, It did sort of end of a cliff hanger.

11:https://i0.wp.com/pics.mobygames.com/images/covers/large/1308472064-00.jpg   https://i0.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bb/Quest_for_Glory_2_Box_Cover.jpgHero’s Quest 1 and 2: These two games hold a very special place in my heart. These two were my first intro into the gaming world. At the tender age of 7 my father brought home our very first home computer, a Tandy and Hero’s Quest was the very first game we all played together. My dad would be at the controls as my brother and I would sit next to him on either side as the three of us played this game together. To this very day it is a cherished memory, my father (who is still very much alive.) is the very reason i am a gamer today.  While i would go on to play the first game on my own and beat it on my own years later (the second on i could not due to a virus on the game disc) it is those Precious first memories of this new fantastic gaming world, were good would win over evil, and that family is always at your side.

As you can see most of the first five are here due to nostalgia the next ones are more current choices:

10: https://i0.wp.com/www.pocketgamer.co.uk/artwork/na-yxhpd/tetris-logo.jpg Tetris: My first exposure to this game actually game with that tandy, it however was not called tetris it was called weltris and there was a password needed to play the game. Over the years however this game has found itself on my various devises, my ds, my cell phone. I have seen the dark side of level 20 and have gone past it, i think my highest level is 30. There really is no really beating of this game you just continue until you die, which is why its not high on my list. However it is continue replay value makes it an easy mark for my top ten.

9:  https://i0.wp.com/weeklygeekshow.com/images/xblaworms.jpgWorms: I was going to put Golden Sun on this list but after realizing i have all three and only really beaten One of the games i had no choice but to eliminate it from the list. Worms is a game i have a lot of fond memories of. My brother and I continually rented it from the local blockbuster/Hollywood video. We spent many an afternoon with that game naming characters drilling holes in the side then blowing the crap out of each others worms. I am generally not fond of today’s modern shooters but give me a banana bomb and i know i am in for some fun. I haven’t enjoyed many of the modern titles maybe because for me the enjoyment came out the time i spent play with my brother in this game.

8: https://i0.wp.com/www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/286587-twisted-metal-2-playstation-screenshot-main-menus.pngTwisted Metal (series): This is another game i spent a lot of time with my brother with. He borrowed Twisted metal 2, and together we would spend hours playing this game. Admittedly i would cheat, i would love (and Still do) to throw on the god code in the game. (unlimited weapons and invulnerability to almost everything but falling) We would go on to play and own all but the most recent title. It would be because of this game i would buy a ps2 for my dorm room in college when me and my brother went to separate sides of the state.  Its a little sad too  I would enjoy probably the new game for the ps3 i just cannot justify the cost of spending 3-400 dollars on a system for two games. not after the 3ds debacle.  I am waiting patiently for the ps4 to come out and the ps3’s price to drop to $99 before i buy it.  For me at least my favorite titles in this series are, TM2, TM black, TM Heads on, TM4, TM 1, TM3 and the worst title of the whole group is small brawl…yeah um lets pretend that one doesn’t exist, i am sure they want to.

7: https://i0.wp.com/images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110410161529/finalfantasy/images/c/c2/FFIVnds_logo.jpg Final Fantasy (Series): When I first came across Final fantasy at the game store, it was already up to 9 possibly 10. I was reluctant to play it at first because i believed at the time that it was a continuation of each game, so given the series was already at 9 i thought i would be quite lost. My friend at the time (soon to be boyfriend…then ex ass hole) corrected the assumption and encouraged me to play Final Fantasy VII. This game floored me from the first half hour. The story was amazing, the graphics or average for that time, and the music was just ear catching. I did however know about Aerith before her death. i had gotten in a fight with my boyfriend at the time, i had told him who died in the latest Harry Potter book, so he told me Aerith dies. I remember being annoyed because i had spent a lot of time with her leveling her. (second play though with game i focused on Tifa.) I also grew to hate the character after getting stuck in the scene were Sephiroth kills her over and over again. After complementing 7, I quickly went on to 8 then 10. I did make an attempt at 9 i really did, however the copy game stop had was a broken copy and it would not let me play it. The final fantasy i have played is 7, 8, 10, 10-2, 12, 12-2, and 4 (remastered version for ds.) I own most of the sound tracks for these games as well. If i was to rank them, my favorite one out of the series i have played, 4 is hands down my favorite. then to me 12, 7, 10, 10-2, 8, then 12-2. So why is this game series not higher on the list. two reasons, One i have not played all in the series, 5 6 and 9 most notably. I do have 3 but have never gotten though it the lack of phoenix downs is a big deterrent. two Like Twisted Metal its latest releases have been newer systems i simply cannot afford. I would love to play 13 but i cannot buy a new system each time they want to release a new game, not when i can use that money for other things. I guess that is one of the sad things of being an adult is making adult choices like that one. Sorry Final Fantasy i love ya…i just cannot afford ya.

6:  https://i0.wp.com/gfx.gaminator.tv/data/news/1391/8304.2.jpgPuzzle Quest (series): I love puzzle games, and i love RPG’s this game was the first one to combine the two in a format i really enjoyed. It is a game i can go back to repeatability and when the game is over it leaves me wanting more. For the DS and now i am seeing it available on other handhelds its just a simple game with a simple story that leaves me wanting more. I have enjoyed all entries so far to this game and hope to see more.

5:https://i0.wp.com/pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/object/142/14245996/Glory-Of-Heracles_US_ESRB.jpg  Glory Of Heracles: This game caught my ear before it caught my attention. I was in the store looking for a new game to play when its opening titles started to play, and i fell instantly in love with it. I picked up the game and i was pleasantly surprised by both the characters and the adventure that awaited me. To be one of the few games on this list that is not part of a series its has to be something special, and this one to me was. It you have ever watched a good movie, played a good game, or read a good book, there is that moment after the game ends that you have to sit quietly for a moment and think about the story that just unraveled around you. You have to slowly bring yourself out of that world and back into reality. It also should leave you wanting just a little more to the story, and this game gave me that quiet moment. I have played this game over and over the years i have searched for news of a sequel only to find none. If you have never played this game I highly suggest it.

4: https://i0.wp.com/revengeofthefilmnerds.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/lotro-logo.jpg Lord Of the Rings online: i cannot have a top ten without including a game that has had a major impact of my life for almost 3 years now. I talked briefly about it in my previous post, but let me go into more details. I Started seeking out an MMoRPG shortly after my departure from the 3ds. I was feeling isolated and a little alone, so i was seeking a place i could meet new people and interact with in the confounds of a game. After a few trial and errors i found a server and a kin to join. I guess its in my very nature to interact people, and i very quickly rose though the ranks of that kin, eventually taking on the task of guiding the kin all together. Then with some trouble with in that kin, just could not be stopped. So I along with several others split off and formed our own kin Phoenix Rising, which has been together for 2 years now. I have gotten the online family i was seeking and the adventure i wanted to go on. I am on this game every night, and with multiple festivals, faires and combat event there is always something to do. However due to its lack of portability and being a slave to the games servers (if they go down i have nothing to do until it comes back) it makes this game just miss out on the top three.

3: https://i0.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/54/Digimon_World_DS_Coverart.jpg Digimon World (Series): I have been playing different Versions of Digimon world since it first came out on the PS1. I watched this game change how it was played each series, but they really seemed to hit is stride when it came to the ds. I should preference the next statements with this. While I like pokèmon the game, the series on TV I didn’t like quite as much as I liked Digimon. i found Digimon’s story on tv to be written out smarter and more engaging then that of Pokèmon’s. So to find Pokèmon was in fact the better games was a little sad, but Digimon for the ds i think taking some cues from Pokèmon became a smarter and more engaging game. In fact in recent months i have been trying to track my games back down to play again. (i stupidly sold it off for the 3ds (Kicks old 3ds again)) Digimon is a series i love and would buy and play again in a heart beat.

2:https://i0.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7b/Professor_Layton_and_the_Unwound_Future.png  Professor Layton (Series): This game took what i loved about Puzzle Quest and quadrupled it. with challenging Puzzles and often very engaging story this series has everything i could ask for. As you can probably tell by the picture Unwound future is my favorite entry into this series (i have not gotten the newest 3ds version due to me only recently picking the 3ds back up) The story of a lost love, and the eventual departure of Luke it just tugged at my heart string, and yes it made me cry.  I did get a little annoyed with them taking a step back instead of going forward with the games time line. Its that annoyance with them going backwards instead of forward that keeps this game from my number 1 Slot.

1: http://www.acewallpapers.co.uk/content/pages/nintendo%20greats/albums/Phoenix%20Wright%20Ace%20Attorney%20(03)%20%5B1280x1024%5D.jpg Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright (series): I squealed..that’s right i actually physically squealed out loud when i found out there would be a new entry to this series recently. This was one of the first real series i played on my ds i picked it up on a whim. I knew no one who played it before, there was not really a lot of hype that i could see at least surrounding it. Picking it up has been one of the best game decisions of my life, this games story is engaging. there characters for the most part lovable. (although there are a couple of witnesses i wanna slap.) When I was browsing recently though the Nintendo eShop and there was a preview for a US Release of Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton, i just about shit myself i was so excited. I have loved every title in this series  has released and look forward the future titles as well. Ace Attorney to me is the perfect blend of Puzzles, story and likable characters. This is why the Ace Attorney will always be my number one pick.

So there you have it, my top 15 favorite non pokèmon games. I hope you enjoyed my list, if you have any suggestions for future posts please feel free to comments down below or fill out the contact form and send me a note.

Next time…i am not sure yet.

Journey In To handhelds

As some of you have gathered from my previous posts and even my journey into Gaming, i prefer to be portable in my gaming life, as i get older as I always seem to be going somewhere i find life easier to have something portable to play with. Each one of my systems has a story to tell and a journey to note and I am finally going to tell our story.

Special note: All handhelds pictured are my very own systems, all are well cared for and still playable today.

Special note: All dates when i got these systems could be off as i get older i tend to forget little details.

Game Boy Color  The Game Boy Color [1999-2002] : This were I started my handheld journey, one Christmas or birthday (i really cannot remember, what do you want this was over 11 years ago!) I got my Game Boy Color with Pokèmon yellow. I do remember wanting yellow over red or blue because i didn’t want to have to choose a starter and it closely followed the cartoon i had come to enjoy. I quickly grew to enjoy having this system with me, my family who traveled a lot to visit relatives over 3-4 hours away have a Game boy color became a nice way to pass the time. Eventually my brother would get his own GBC a teal one along with Pokèmon blue and we would battle each other along our journey. Coupled with the n64 (our first official Nintendo system in the house.) Pokèmon would go on to solidify its place in my heart, i fell in love for the first time with my long time friend over this system. This system also saw my first heart break, the death of my grandfather and the most impactful moment in both mine and America’s life.  As my journey with Pokèmon continued with silver and then eventually crystal this system gave me comfort in those troubled times. I however never journeyed beyond the Pokèmon games with this system, i think it was more of the people i knew at the time did not really play the system so i only played what I knew.

GBA Game Boy Advance [2003 3 months]: As news of a new Pokèmon game started to grow it quickly became apparent i would soon need to upgrade from my Game boy Color to a Game boy advance. I hesitated at first, just freshly off a two hand surgeries for carpel tunnel i had given the systems a break. Instead choosing to play console games with my brother (Namingly Twisted Metal, but that’s another story for another day). I was actually probably one of the few that sort of liked the new bulkier design for the GBA, but i yet had a real need to upgrade to it. My brothers new girlfriend (soon to be sister in law) at the time, surprised me one day with an old floor model GBA from the store she worked at. She had apparently won it and her sibling already had one. This poor little thing was already quite beaten up, it didn’t have a battery backing to it, so i used duck tape to hold the double A’s into the system. That vacation i picked up the spider-man skin for it, along with a spider-man light. ( i am not sure were the light is, i know it is in my room, i am just not sure were in my room). As pokèmon Sapphire launched it became apparent this poor little guy just wouldn’t suit the needs i had, but there was another a better option.

GBA SP  Game Boy Advance SP[2003-2006]. This one in my humble opinion was a huge jump forward for both Nintendo and myself. the first system to offer a rechargeable battery, back lighting and most importantly for me a closeable screen. As i started to travel more with my system bringing it to and from college with me having a gba whose batteries constantly popped out wasn’t a feasible option.  At the time the friends I had recently made at an anime club at my college already had a few sp’s among them, so i wanted my new little GBA sp to look different then theirs. I wanted one one with the old Nintendo background on it, (which is weird for me because i have no real history with Nintendo up until my game boy color, I was a Sega girl.) The store didn’t have that one in stock but this tribal one was. To be honest now looking back on it I am glad I got this one. Maybe its because its been with me for over ten years but if i had to do it over again and my original choice was there, I think I might pick the tribal one all over again, there is just something about the design I really like. This one also launched me on a different journey for me. With these new friends they started to recommend other titles to me, and making a trip to GameStop with them was not completely unheard of. I started to play other titles such as Advance Wars, Wario Wear and Golden Sun, I still played my Pokèmon games but i enjoyed the different titles as well. This little one came every where with me, its small size rechargablity and the foldable feature made it perfect for me.

DS Lite 2 DS LITE (2005-2008) : This little one is actually my second ds lite. I never bought the original ds, I would wait until the ds lite and when i was officially at my four year school before I bought this one. It appealed to me because of its wireless capabilities allowing me to connect and play with the friends I left behind when i moved from a community college onto to a 4 year university. Even though its not pictured here, this would be the first system that i would purchase a grip for.  Just before my first gba doctors discovered I had carpal tunnel in my hand, due to my muscles growing in a different directions, i had always had trouble gripping so after two surgeries to “correct” the issues, my hands would remain in pain. Carpal tunnel and gaming are not friends. (just FYI and the Surgery does not work, i am still in pain years later and have bad days were my whole hand just is ache)
Anyways I ramble, as i mentioned earlier this one wasn’t my original lite, my first one another white one (i refused to get a pink one!) I was talking to my roommate one evening when my original one jumped from its perch and to the solid floor below, its little hinge went flying off into another direction why the console went in another. To the damn things credit it, it still played and acted as if nothing was wrong. (Nintendo really builds these things to be beaten up.) After realizing i could not repair it, i traded it in for a new one. this one would remain my system for a good 4 years. It was this system i would truly explore other games with. I quickly became a fan of game series like Puzzle Quest, Professor Layton, and Ace Attorney. I would also pick up ds versions of Final fantasy 4 (which i loved), the newest sets of Pokèmon games including ones that would appear for the first time on the ds. I really enjoyed ranger a lot (although my hands beg to differ on that one) This little system open up so much for me and i think even today it was a ground breaker for me.

DSI DSI: (2009-2013) I actually had no intention on buying the DSI , my lite gave me everything i could have asked for, but one Christmas shortly after I had completed college my brother asked me what i wanted for Christmas. I told him either a psp (to fill my need for portable twisted metal and final fantasy) or dsi (because my intrest was peaked with the new Nintendo handheld), to my surprise he actually got me the DSI. He picked it because I already had a good library in which to use it. At first i didn’t use it sticking with my well known and well loved DS Lite. Eventually however little by little i started to warm up to this new system. I gave it new little wings (the grips you see pictured with it and i started to download a few titles.  without even realizing it this quickly became my go to system forcing my beloved lite into retirement. I continue to accumulate more titles including pearl, soul silver. i even downloaded a few titles as well, including a longer version of the paper airplane game which i had come to love from my old Wario wear title for the gba. It is funny it is also because of this system did i even return to the handhelds after the disaster.

Not pictured Original 3ds or

useless piece of crap.

When the 3ds was announced I grew excited,  given my enjoyment of the previous ds models i thought i would enjoy this system as well. So over the course of the months leading up to its launch I traded in the PSP that i had bought (brother was right i just enjoyed my DS more) and a few dozen titles towards the purchase of the new 3ds. I put a little money aside every couple of weeks so the day of launch i would have it all paid off, treating the pre-order system at game stop as a layaway system.  Paid off it was day of launch…but that 3ds started a 2 and a half year long break from Nintendo. I put a lot of hard earn money and time into getting the system only to on launch day have no titles i was truly into and 6 months later they would drop the price by nearly a 100 dollars. The games they gave me to compensate me was much of a compensation in my opinion because they were titles i had no prior interest in playing. it was a slap in the face for me i had given up a lot to get that system, including my PSP and beloved ds titles which i am still trying to track down again including my digimon game. This system itself was a disappointment as well, its battery didn’t last nearly as long as my dsi’s battery, I was hurt badly by Nintendo and even the newly release pokèmon black could not ease the betrayal i was feeling by Nintendo and i walked away from them for two years.

https://i0.wp.com/tlt.psu.edu/files/2011/08/Screen-Shot-2012-10-19-at-9.57.37-AM.pngI filled my time in those two years with games on the android, from Mystery of the Crystal to angry birds, to most recently Simpsons Tapped out. AAA Homer i hope you never stop entertaining me. My android cell phone became a companion to me but it alone could not fill the void.

https://i0.wp.com/www.gamefront.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/lotro-logo-517.jpg (2011-present) I also explored the world of MMRPG’s, being too cheap to afford something like World of Warcraft I look for Free to Play options, it was suggested to me to try Lord of the Rings Online even though i had never read the books or seen the movies. i was told i would be fine..and you know what i was. I went into the the journey online looking for new friends and a new world to explore and i got both. I have been playing happily now for almost 3 years now on the riddermark server. At the beginning of this month the kin i helped found celebrated its second year of being together. I do love the people i play with and admittedly i now pay for the game, i still found myself missing something. After three years of exploring middle earth i found myself dreaming of my ds again.

3ds2 3ds XL (2013-current) On a Whim recently i broke out my old Dsi (the 3sd still very much in time out) growing bored of the often short cell phone games I started to play pokèmon black,  a game which i had bought just weeks after buying the 3ds, but by then my heart was already broken. With my sudden resurgence to play my friends encouraged me to upgrade once again, this time however I was reluctant. after all i had burned before, but they persisted promising me the XL had better fixed the errors of the original. They both had a 3ds xl’s and after a while i gave in.  Knowing I would never get over the hurt the original one caused i traded it in for a fresh start (and got a great deal for it, GameStop sent me an e-mail promising me more then what they were going to offer, i showed the e-mail and got that promised amount back on it, (Go older and wiser(ish)!)  I got my new blue 3ds for half of the amount, with in days i found a new grip for it and i was off an running. They were right this ones battery is much better then the original and it feels different. It feels like a new start of me and nintendo, for the first time with access to the new store i found myself remembering how happy i was with my ds and DSI , i was both surprised and a little pleased to learn the two systems could talk to each other and i could import almost all the games i had bought for the dsi onto the 3ds. I think for the first time i felt like i had come to terms with the pain Nintendo has cause and was now ready to move on with them.  Now with a pokèmon at my side (and a new one almost here) middle earth in my lap and homer…well doing what homer does. I feel like my adventure is bright with my handhelds, we might have hit a rough patch but portable is always the system..the home where i belong.

Gameboys

Well that’s my long winded and probably boring story.

next time, my top 10 favorite non-pokèmon titles…thank you for reading

My top 10 Favorite Pokèmon, that I will never use in battle.

Admit it, we all have them, Pokèmon that we have seen in the game, that we have come to love based on critter design, concept or just because they make us go “How Clever” but when it comes down to over all game play they are just not that useful. We all have at least one, so I have decided to create a list of my top ten Favorite pokèmon, that i will never use in battle.

10 https://i0.wp.com/images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090505201006/pokemon/images/0/00/359Absol.png Absol: , I know this is a hugely popular pokèmon, and its easy to see why, with a sleek design and the soon to be potential mega evolution its a great pokèmon. However lets face facts people, since the introduction of dark pokèmon in the second generation this has become a decent size category with a lot of different dark types to choose from. For me having one pokèmon that’s purely dedicated to dark, just doesn’t make sense to me in my team.  Doesn’t mean i do not appreciate the creature and its design and concept. I do look forward to what becomes of it in the future, this is a pokèmon I would love to see another step to besides mega.

9 https://i0.wp.com/pokesplash.net/resources/art/283.pngSurskit: This one is just adorable as a child who spent most of her time admiring the bug world, the bugs that glided along the water were always interesting to me.  While i am not terribly fond of its evolution, i do love the design and concept of the little glider. Admit it, there are a few of you out there who just a tad bit disappointed at its stats. It just wasn’t built for battle but as especially the third gen pointed out there can be more to the game then just fighting.

8https://i0.wp.com/img2.findthebest.com/sites/default/files/620/media/images/Magnemite_46608.jpg  Magnemite: This guys suffers from the same fate as poor Absol, there are just too many better options out there to make picking it just not a smart move. I however have fondness for this guy, being one of the only pokèmon I can successfully draw and it still look like original pokèmon. Believe when i say i really don’t have many drawing skills, But if on occasion you find a little sketch of this little guy.

7: https://i0.wp.com/img.pokemondb.net/artwork/natu.jpg Natu: Poor Natu, there are just so many bird pokèmon out there, that are just so much better then this little cutie. On top of that it happened to come out in the same generation as the games Ultimate Psychic Flyer Lugia. Thus making this pokèmon pretty easy to ignore. But I have always loved its design and colors, admittedly always found it a little cute too. Its a shame really it couldn’t be better in battle.

6https://i0.wp.com/img2.findthebest.com/sites/default/files/620/media/images/Kecleon_46373.png Kecleon: This one for me isn’t on here for its design, so much so as its creativity. for those of you not familer with this guy, he comes with the ability Color change, that when hit with an attack changes its type over to the type of the attack it was just hit with. For instance say i hit it with a fighting move, it then switches over to a fighting type, Because of this however i had great fun taking it out, using the change to my advantage. I still have to admire the thought that went into him. That is why he is an easy pick for my top 10.

5https://i0.wp.com/img.pokemondb.net/artwork/joltik.jpg  Joltik: Man is this little guy a little cutie, I just love the concept and design of him, as you might be starting to pick up I love bugs, and loved running into him. This one also has the added bonus of scaring the crap out my other friends who are not quite as fond of spiders and bugs as i am. It is just too bad that like so many before it there are just better bugs, and eletric pokèmon out there otherwise you better believe this would be on my team. Sorry cutie I just don’t want you to get beaten up.

4: https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/3/36/132Ditto.png/200px-132Ditto.png Ditto: Combat wise, this pokèmon has always been more of a novelty then anything else. Able to transform into its opposing pokèmon seems like a great idea, however it never copied the stats of that pokèmon making Ditto very useless. However in the second generation they added the concept of breeding making Ditto very, very useful. Ditto can breed with anything, any gender and even some genderless ones. (try not to think to hard about that one) making ditto both incredibly useful outside of battle. I now make sure any new game i start there is a ditto on stand by ready to send over, or use it to breed some new baby pokèmon, like what i did with Denio so that new baby could be raised along side some of my others. I have also been known to just throw ditto in a breeders and just leave it there as i swap out pokèmon for it to um…do its thing with. Ditto is incredibly useful for breeding, but sadly not for battling which makes it number 4 on my list.

3 https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/d/dd/193Yanma.png/290px-193Yanma.png https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/e/e6/469Yanmega.pngYanma and Yanmega: I love Dragonfly’s ever since I was a little girl i would catch and release them. In fact as i am typing this i am wearing a dragonfly necklace around my neck.  Imagine my my utter delight to see Yanma (then later generations its evolution.) Then imagine my utter disappointment at its stats…its just to weak to be competitive in any arena.  While its new evolution improve things slightly, it still was just a disaster on the field. However it will continue to get my love as being pokèmon’s only tribute to dragonfly’s.

2 https://i0.wp.com/pokemon3d.net/wiki/images/9/99/Mantine.pngMantine: I love this pokèmon, and if it wasn’t for Lapras there is a strong chance this one could end up on my team. I love the fact they made a stingray pokèmon, what i love even more was adding the little remoraid to its wing. This is a great example i think of the creators of the games concept and design follow thru. This pokèmon is well designed and well thought out. Even the eventual addition of Mantyke stayed true to Mantines good design. What keeps this little guys off the team is its duel weakness to electric which is just to bad because it has nice balanced stats. Don’t worry little one I still love you.

1https://i0.wp.com/oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/pokemon-blue-version/1/1c/Krabby.gif Krabby: This water pokèmon stole my heart in the anime and i continue to love it. The picture of it here is actually my favorite picture of it, i mean who amongst us are not that happy having our favorite treat in our hands. Krabby falls under the same trap as so many others on this list, just too many better options to make using him plausible. As you have noticed probably, i love my water types and i love my bug types and honestly crabby is a bugish water pokèmon. Admit it crabs look like bugs too. Seeing how this little guy was probably the first of my the pokèmon i really loved but just couldn’t not find a place for it seems fitting he should take the crown.

There you have it my top ten.

So what are your top favorite pokèmon that you never use in combat, leave your opinion in the comments down below.

Next time: My journey into the handheld world.

My top ten most Hated pokèmon

After writing a list of my top ten Favorite pokèmon, i decided to create a blog dedicated to the world of Video games. A little back ground on me, i started playing and watching video games at a young age, with the pokèmon series being one of the first games i played on my own without the assistance of a sibling, parent or cheat codes.

I Started my adventure in pokèmon game world with yellow, when i was in high school, i still today in my early 30’s happily play the game. over the years while there are some pokèmon i really love there are some i hate with a burning passion, and often times there is little logical reason behind it. So for my first post here as a Gamer Women i thought i would start off with my top ten most hated pokèmon.

Disclaimer: The creatures I picked are my own personal opinions and are often not on the list because they are bad pokèmon I just for one reason or another dislike them. Often time multiple defeats at there hands it makes me hate them with the burning passion of a million suns…..oh um…lets get started

10http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=33295089  Unown: Why Game Freak? This is to me the start of the one pokèmon entry, for 26ish different varieties of this guy, and for what logical reason? Really none; admit it though like me when you first encountered the little buggers in Gold and silver you did try to catch the whole lot of them, thinking that maybe, just maybe something special might happened. Now a days as an older and (some what) wiser player I know I only really need one for my pokèdex. So its one quick ball, into the box to never be seen again. (I do admittedly like the Unown that is the letter H only because it reminds me of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, look at it you can see it too)

9https://i0.wp.com/fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/324/b/2/202___wobbuffet_by_merum_sb_blueolimar-d323enq.png Wobbuffet: Talk about useless, I am still not sure what they were thinking when creating this purely defensive pokèmon. It learns four moves..that is it no more, no less. It is designed to be a punching bag, and other then some admittedly funny moments in the anime it really doesn’t serve much of a purpose. For me however my time with it comes down to a pokèmon stadium moment when you are using rental pokèmon and so is the opposing player, I am forced to send out out a wobbuffet and so does the opposing player leading to a headache inducing moment. since neither one can attack it leads to me having to reset the game. Now i know why it it is always holding its head, because it causes so many headaches

8https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/2/24/103Exeggutor.png/210px-103Exeggutor.png Exeggutor: Ugly…that’s all I will say. What you say that’s not enough…fine. Keep in mind I came into the pokèmon world in my high school years, and I found the whole concept of a walking tree, that evolved from eggs to be a little ridicules. On top of that the widely popular bird pokèmon could easily turn this guy into scrambled eggs. I just could never get past its designed and found it on the verge of useless to me. Strangely enough Sudowoodo doesn’t earn my ire as much has Exeggutor only because I have to tip my hat to them on creativity, I mean it is a tree, that is rock type so players not knowing what is can have to birds with some very sore beaks…but Exeggutor..ug.

7https://i0.wp.com/www.fakecard.com/pokedex/pokemon/images/big/241.gif Miltank: I know Miltank was created to be a female version of Tauros…so why does it look…so disturbing. On top of that if your going to make a male and female version of something you need to either A: Have a pre-evolution for the two that makes having male and female make sense, or B make a joined final formation. This doesn’t give other and to be honest brings down poor Tauros just a little for being associated with this. On top of that, lets talk briefly about players first encounter with Miltank, and that is Whitney in as far as i can remember (and i can have a bit of a short memory) the only real normal gym. Her Miltank was was a difficult beast, flattening a good many of my Pokèmon, but if it wasn’t for that Miltank and the other two starting gyms my appreciation for Geodude would have never grown…so I guess I ought to thank that cow…

6https://i0.wp.com/img.pokemondb.net/artwork/durant.jpg Durant: My hatred for this pokèmon actually doesn’t really have much to with the critter itself, I am actually quite terrified of ants. Yup that’s right I like most bugs, and even spiders don’t bother me, (I actually have a small soft spot for Spinarak and Joltik) But i just cannot do ants in any form. I think it goes back to when i was little and attacked by a swarm of fire ants *Shudders*. So I don’t care how good this pokèmon is or isn’t, you will never see it in my team. It is going into the box as far away from me as humanly possibly. *gets out her Blazikin for protection*

5https://i0.wp.com/media.pldh.net/dreamworld/563.png Cofagrigus: There is something very wrong about a pokèmon in the shape of a coffin, I know it made sense to someone out there, but for me having a floating living casket just does not seem right. It is also a pain in the behind to take out. When first encountering it in the Elite four there is a small huh..that’s a bit weird oh well lets just kill it. *twenty minutes pass* how the heck did that just take out half my team? You think by now i would learn not to underestimate elite four pokèmon…sadly its a lesson I have yet to learn.

4 https://i0.wp.com/fc04.deviantart.net/fs22/f/2009/254/e/2/Yuxie__Mesprit_and_Azelf_by_katy144.pngMesprit, Uxie and Azelf: God do I hate these three. I have never been a big fan of the roaming pokèmon, I prefer them to just sit still and do into the ball, but i hate it even more when there roaming and useless. Pearl and Diamond had about four different roaming pokèmon in the game Cresselia and these three obnoxious roaming morons. Yes I know gold and silver had started the roaming, but at least they are useful in combat. So were Latios, and Latias but these guys. When I caught the three I subsequently named them Pain, In The, Ass. and threw them into my box to sit and sit.

So you can already seeing my anger build so what are the top three pokemon that have caused me so much pain and anger…keep reading.

3 https://i0.wp.com/cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/f/ff/272Ludicolo.png/180px-272Ludicolo.pngLudicolo: I  encounted this pokèmon a lot over the years, but it is because of Pokèmon XD does my hatred grow to a burning ember with this guy. Those who read my previous entry, My Top 10 Favorite Pokèmon know that Umbreon grew as one of my favorites during this game, him along with Espeon battled loyally along my side though out the game, however it was this pokèmon that would spoil my fun, along with its disturbing dancing in the game and admittedly powerful move sets this made my two little guys easy pray for this *Lets out string of swear words* pokèmon.

2https://i0.wp.com/img.pokemondb.net/artwork/jynx.jpg Jynx: I have never really been fond of human shaped pokèmon, Mr. Mime, Magmar, and Electabuzz just never did it for me, but i never hated them, I just didn’t really like them. So what did Jynx do to piss me off so very much. My first pokèmon game that i played was Yellow, so my partner pokèmon was Pikachu, my very first run at the Elite Four I watched my beloved little electric rat repeatably get taken down by this ugly horrible pokèmon, not only that I watched it take out my Zapdos, my Dugtrio even Lapras go down to it. Admittedly I know a little better now to send those types in against an ice type now, but yellow was my first pokèmon game and Jynx was standing between me and my final victory. I have never forgiven this pokèmon for those early defeats, and I probably never will. So say hello to the ice box Jynx because you are not moving any where for a long…long time.

1https://gamerwomen.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/0c10f-wr11qk3567.png The Regi’s: Just looking at these four makes my blood boil, the amount of time put in to catching these horrible bastards…ok. *takes a second to breathe.* You might be asking yourself, how could you possibly hate these guys, there legendary pokèmon. I have been playing this game for years now so i know pokèmon I like and ones i don’t. I cannot tell you the amount of hours I spent trying to catch these rotten pokèmon, they would have 1 hp be paralyzed have 0 accuracy due to me flashing the crap out of them and they still would not go in to the freaking ball, and all four of them were like this. I would go though countless timer, dusk, and ultra balls trying to get them to go in. I would be sitting there an hour after I should be in bed begging with them to just go into to the pokèball and they still refused. When i learned recently i would have to recatch these horribly stubborn pokèmon again in black 2, I think I started to cry a little bit.  I don’t think there is any other pokèmon out there on this list that makes my blood boil with the passion of a thousand red suns then four guys. I can’t tell you the small joy i get in taking these suckers out with one of my Top 10. So Regi’s go into the box and think about what you have done!

There you have it my list of the top ten most hated pokèmon, now i am gonna get a stick and hit a tree or something to calm down a bit. Until next time keep those on catching them all

My Top ten is in the comments down below.

Coming next time: My top ten favorite pokèmon…that i will never use in battle.
